Nurses against Mandatory Vaccines was founded and formed by our president who became alarmed when mandatory vaccination policies were being introduced into workplaces, and there seemed to be no rhyme or reason.
Research and other publicly acquired information now shows why: hospital systems are REQUIRED to report flu shot reception rate among their staff, or they lose an incentive payment of up to 2% my CMS.(http://www.hhs.gov/ash/initiatives/hai/hcpflu.html). While the government itself does not require mandatory vaccination policies, many hospital and healthcare systems, if not all of them, are taking an “all or nothing” stance against their workers. You now face being fired and without a job if you refuse a flu vaccine. This is in violation of human rights, the Nuremberg Code, and is also in violation of the Patient Bill of Rights that gives all patients the right to refuse a medical procedure.
The flu vaccine is not an effective way to eradicate a disease that only actually infects 125,000 people each year, and only causes death in approximately 5% of those cases. (Not the fake 30,000 number that comes up each year.)
NAMV does not support mandatory vaccination policies for healthcare workers of any kind. We are here to stand up and fight back against this policy and procedure, and to fight back against the vaccine companies who clearly lobbied for this law ONLY to pad their own pockets. It has been suggested that the mandatory flu vaccines are for “patient safety.” The truth of the matter is, is that mandatory flu vaccine policies are to provide more funding for the hospital and healthcare systems and more money for the vaccine companies who produce these drugs.

To add to your post on the fact that 30,000 people a year are NOT dying of flu: take a look at the US National Vital Statistics Records.
Here is the National Vital Statistics Report’s final data for the year 2012.

Yes, initially, they list 50,636 as having died from pneumonia/influenza.
BUT–go to page 39, and you’ll see that they actually DO separate pneumonia and influenza, and even tell us how many in each age group died of each.
49,530 died of pneumonia.
1,106 died of influenza.
And for each disease, HALF of those deaths were in people over the age of 85! And an additional 25% were in people over the age of 75.
So in addition to being extremely old and having lungs that don’t work as well as those of younger adults, this cohort almost certainly has other significant health issues.
As I recall, the statistics for the year 2010 were that only 500 people died from influenza. 500 out of the entire population of the US.
Again, the vast majority were over the age of 75.
So, between 2010 and 2015, there was an aggressive campaign to increase vaccination rates among senior citizens.

Yet more adults apparently died from influenza.
And the CDC is not telling us how many of those adults were actually vaccinated for influenza. Could the elderly actually be at increased risk of dying from the flu if they get a flu shot?
